You Successfully Built a Diverse Team, Now What?

Companies are working hard to meet diversity goals. However, to truly drive impact, we must create and foster an inclusive environment where employees feel a sense of belonging and comfortability being their entire selves. Everyone plays a role in achieving inclusion; from the C-Suite to the managers. HP Inc. is tackling this head-on under Chief Diversity Officer Lesley Slaton Brown’s leadership, recognizing inclusion isn’t just monumental shifts, but small daily acts of respect. Lesley will draw from experience to share how we can implement change beyond diversity goals by committing to inclusion.

Grow Your Own Grassroots Allyship Initiative

The growing dialogue around allyship inspired Karan Mehra to start a grassroots initiative at Bloomberg. Together, a core group of employees built an agenda to educate themselves, create informative content, and share it with a wider audience – while incorporating empathy and data to engage audiences and adding personal stories to humanize the discussion. Using audience feedback and in-house expertise of researchers like Rachana Bhide, the team has tailored its content to drive meaningful change across the company’s Engineering organization. Karan will share obstacles faced and lessons learned to inspire others to go and lead their own grassroots organizational change.
