Grow Your Own Grassroots Allyship Initiative
The growing dialogue around allyship inspired Karan Mehra to start a grassroots initiative at Bloomberg. Together, a core group of employees built an agenda to educate themselves, create informative content, and share it with a wider audience – while incorporating empathy and data to engage audiences and adding personal stories to humanize the discussion. Using audience feedback and in-house expertise of researchers like Rachana Bhide, the team has tailored its content to drive meaningful change across the company’s Engineering organization. Karan will share obstacles faced and lessons learned to inspire others to go and lead their own grassroots organizational change.
Allyship to Native Americans in Tech
Native Americans are sharply underrepresented at all stages of the tech talent pipeline. We’ll explore opportunities to learn more about and recruit Native Americans in tech through partnerships and capacity building.
